Since late June 2016, I started my internship at the Kroc Center in Salem, Oregon. There I have been working on signage, flyers, rack cards, logos, and more that is used inside the facility and on social media. The design work is under minimal supervision.
Hoopla 2016
One of my first projects was creating advertising rack cards that were going to be distributed at Hoopla 2016. These rack cards needed an updated design so I wanted to create a refreshing look that reflected on the summer season but still made it appealing to families participating in the event.
Easter Egg Hunt Logo
This was my first logo assignment in my internship. They wanted something that was entirely kid-friendly but still contemporary. The chick has it’s own character with the tuft of feathers on the top of its head and creates a whimsical-twist with the underwater theme.
Homeschool U
This project was a combination of creating a logo and print design for a program held at the Kroc Center. The logo itself is bold and dignified as if it represents an official program or education system like other schools and universities. The icon set is entirely custom for the design that shows the supplies and subjects used in the program which is recreated into a repeatable pattern.
Wildcat Boxing
This was a project with a less than 2-hour turnaround. They wanted signage for upcoming classes held only at the Kroc Center. The classes are targeted to adolescent teens that are interested in boxing classes held at the community center.
